Brian McDermott, Vice President, Supplier Management, oversees all efforts that support and advocate on behalf of aerospace suppliers and foster solid relationships with prime contractors.  

Prior to joining AIA, McDermott was Vice President, Corporate Growth for Paragon Dynamics, a Denver-based company specializing in aerospace and national intelligence system development and engineering.  He also worked at L3 Communications as Director, Business and Marketing Analysis and was responsible for identifying, qualifying and building new opportunities in the aerospace, defense, and homeland security markets.   

McDermott served with the US Air Force for 21 years where he performed duties as a logistics officer and planner with a number of operational assignments around the globe.  He also spent time as a faculty member at Air University, a Deputy Air Base Commander, Support Group Commander (deployed), an On Scene Commander for NASA’s Space Shuttle Transoceanic Abort Landing Program, and he also worked in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).  

McDermott is a native of Philadelphia and a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington. He also holds a Master of Science degree from the Air Force Institute of Technology in Logistics and Acquisition Management.
